The StayBoutique Team sits down with Mallory Studer, General Manager of Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel, as she discusses what’s in the pipeline for 2023!
SB: What are you seeing as a positive change for travelers coming into your hotel?
Studer: We see several positive changes. Travelers are once again comfortable socializing and crave face-to-face interaction. They continue to make up for lost time, and even business travelers are embracing leisure experiences more than they had in the past (pre-pandemic).
SB: What are some new things coming to your hotel in 2023?
Studer: Our intention in 2023 is to grow our relationship in our community and enhance our guest offerings. We will host regular events to connect with locals and our guests. Our lineup includes yoga on our lawn, floral design, and cooking classes.
SB: Are you implementing any wellness amenities into your hotel?
Studer: Yes. Every guest room is outfitted with a sound machine, yoga mat, and relaxing pillow spray. We offer healthy snacks such as a variety of whole fruits, granola, and power bars 24/7 in our guest kitchen. We have partnered with a wellness-focused brand, Reboot. Their team has brought together the best experts in plant-based nutrition, physical movement, and spiritual growth to deliver an intentional reset with a 3-night, 4-day targeted wellness program.
SB: Are there any local small businesses that you work with?
If so, please describe your partnership.
Studer: We have a bespoke gift shop that features a panache of local artists’ pottery, prints, jewelry, glass, and more. We work with a local café to provide our guests with daily breakfast or lunch, inclusive with their stay. We also offer our space to local nonprofit events when possible, as well as donate stays for charitable fundraising.
