Style
Thoughtful and grounded
After 17 years in Chelsea, Alexander Gray Associates made a much-watched move to Tribeca, reopening at 384 Broadway, between Walker and White Streets, now on the same block as Andrew Kreps and P.P.O.W. The relocation only sharpened the gallery’s identity. Through exhibitions, research, and artist representation, the gallery spotlights artistic movements and artists active in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries — influential in cultural, social, and political spheres, notable for creating work that crosses geographic borders, generational contexts, and artistic disciplines. Alexander Gray is also known for its expertise in and commitment to artists who have been underrepresented in the art market, with a particular focus on BIPOC and female artists. This principled curatorial stance makes every visit feel like both a discovery and a reckoning.
